Jessica began working at Ridglea West Animal Hospital in 2013. She started part-time as a Kennel Assistant, quickly became full time and earned her Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) certification. She worked in Client Care spell, working with Barbara at the front desk. While in Client Care she became Avimark Certified. She is now transitioning to Patient Care and working as a technical assistant in the exam rooms and assisting in surgery.
Jessica has a Australian Cattle Dog mix named Shadow and two parakeets named Fred II and Ethel. She has a six foot Red Tail Boa named Severus and a Ball Python named Loki.
Jessica has special love for the reptiles that come to the practice. She has taken Continuing Education hours at seminars on reptiles. She enjoys sharing the things she is learning with our pet reptile parents. She works with the doctor on what is the best way to feed and care for them in our homes. This is very important because veterinary medicine is only beginning to research and understand what our pet reptiles need to thrive.
When she is not working, Jessica enjoys spending time with her pets, attending concerts and reading science articles especially about astronomy. She likes to think about and imagine what life might be like in outer space and to consider the possibility that “we are not alone” in the universe. And surprisingly enough, she also collects fine bone China tea cups.
